Things I Believe
A running list of principles that guide how I build, lead, and think about work.

Not rules. Just things I’ve picked up. They change as I learn more.
Be ruthless about finding the truth
- Truth can hurt. That’s okay.
- You can just change your mind when you’re wrong. It’s not a big deal.
- Have strong opinions, but hold them loosely.
- Put in the hours. Be in the room. See more, learn more.
- Don’t just listen to one person. Get the full picture.
Leadership is about owning outcomes, not titles
- There’s no rulebook for your situation. Make your own.
- Study what worked for others. Then go your own way.
You have no ceiling
- Hard work beats talent. Every time.
- No shortcut replaces putting in the hours.
- Get 1% better every day. That’s it.
Communication is the job
- Clear writing means clear thinking.
- Your writing can always get clearer. So can mine.
- When no one is giving direction, step up and give it.
- Write things down. Your future self will thank you.
Ship fast
- Ship before it’s perfect. Fix it later.
- Listen, build, ship, tell the customer. Repeat forever.
- Speed is a superpower.
- Always lean toward shipping.
Assume good intent
- Lead with empathy.
- Everyone carries stuff you can’t see.
- Criticism is good feedback if you can listen without getting emotional.
- Treat people well on the way up. The climb is long. The world is small.
